The information of full-length cDNA clones from rice (Oryza sativa L. ssp. japonica cv. Nipponbare) collected and completely sequenced by the joint collaboration of National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS), Foundation of Advancement of International Science (FAIS), and RIKEN institute (RIKEN), under the supervision of BRAIN (Bio-oriented Technology Research Advancement Institution) are depicted in this site.
This work has been undertaken through the project named "The rice full-length cDNA". The full-length cDNA libraries have been constructed using around twenty kinds of stressed tissues of japonica rice and from which 170,000 clones have been randomly picked. According to the sequence information of 3' terminal single-pass sequence, clones are grouped into 28,000 independent groups. All the representative clones are completely sequenced.
